Our goal is to engage learners and help them to develop positive attitudes toward the target language. By combining technology with a variety of rich and relevant exposure opportunities, we boost our learners’ engagement with the language and create for a more personalised learning experience for them.
The Primary Stage is the first stage of Cambridge English Qualifications designed for young learners. This stage introduces children to every day written and spoken English and is an excellent way for them to gain confidence and improve their English.
This stage focuses on teaching learners of English how to communicate effectively in real-world situations. It’s a natural progression from our Cambridge English Qualifications for young learners and an excellent place for older children to begin their English education.
Students will gain the confidence required to advance studying for higher-level English exams such as the B1 Preliminary for Schools (PET) or the B2 First for Schools (FCE).
This stages prepares learners to develop the skills needed to most the most of studying, working and living in English-speaking countries. A C2 Proficiency qualification shows the world that you have mastered English to an exceptional level. It proves you can communicate with the fluency and sophistication of a highly competent English speaker.
Technology for teaching and learning can have a huge impact on how students work and learn: we encourage students to figure things out for themselves in order to prepare them to be independent learners.
Virtual Reality (VR) takes the class on a field trip without requiring them to leave the classroom; it sends learners to explore real cities around the world; it is excellent for explaining technical vocabulary and difficult concepts.
Digital tools provide a range of opportunities for learners to practise their language skills at their own speed and level, to communicate and collaborate, and to work creatively and use the language in the real world.
We create opportunities for students to speak by allowing them to interact with AI chatbots on their cellphones in groups or pairs. This is excellent for speaking practise.
When we speak of mastering a language, there are 4 main skills that we must possess in order to communicate effectively. When we learn our “mother tongue”, we often begin by listening, progressing to speaking, reading, and eventually writing. These are referred to as the four “linguistic abilities”.
We ignite a passion for learning within our students and inspire them to seek out the knowledge, practical experiences, and communication skills they will need to succeed in their academic or future career, wherever in the world they choose to study, live, and work.
Here is what some of our students have to say about us.
I love singing songs in the class. It’s fun and interesting.
I can also learn more words when looking at the lyrics.
Listening exercises were difficult and confusing for me at first because the speakers speak so quickly.
The words rarely sound the way they appear in writing.
Now that I’ve gotten better, I can recognise connected speech.
I enjoy attending Teacher’s Nick class. Teacher Nick is a dedicated teacher who knows how to make lessons fun and interesting. His engaging words allow me not only understand the different types of writing techniques but also encourages me to improve on my weaknesses! I’ve always enjoyed attending class each week because he’s so approachable as well; Teacher Nick truly cares about our progress.
One crucial concept I learned in Mrs English is the distinction between conversational and academic language.
My teacher taught us about the bridge between how we to express ourselves through and how language is used in exams writing. What I learned in Mrs English is the distinction between conversational and academic language. My teacher taught us about how we can express ourselves through our words, as well as what they are used for on tests such like essays or reports.
