What is Online Safety?
It is referred to as E Safety (or e-safety), Online Safety, or Internet Safety, however all of these terms refer to the same problem. It’s all about risk; it’s about being aware of the potential dangers associated with internet activity and how to deal with them.
These dangers are classified into four types:
1.Conduct – Children’s behaviour can put them in danger. Access to unsuitable or untrustworthy content may endanger children.
2.Contact – contact with unsuitable, unpleasant, or harmful individuals may endanger children.
3.Commercialism – children’s use of platforms with hidden fees may expose them to danger.
Discussing Online Safety with Children. This can be a frightening prospect, but it is critical. Your children must understand that they can approach you if something does go wrong.
Communicating with them about their online activities in the same way you would with any other subject can help them relax and, if anything is bothering them, they will be more inclined to share it with you.
Additionally, you may attend online safety training that is customised to your specific needs, fit for a broad range of audiences, and covers a variety of critical issues.
